Managing Legacy and New Test Data
One of the most common and repetitive hassles that engineers face is formatting data to make it consistent for the purposes of analysis or, simply, for consolidation. VI Technology Arendar contains a simple administration utility that you can use to define the layout of the data in the database so that every time new data is generated, it is consistent with previously stored data, including legacy content. Data may still be stored in CSV, XLS, or any other type of file format you want, but it is also stored in and maintained through the Arendar database in a uniform format, making data mining and extraction relatively easy.
Another way of ensuring consistent data storage and formatting is through the use of the Arendar API. You can replace or complement your data storage routines with the Arendar LabVIEW VIs or through Arendar API calls in .NET. These routines safely and consistently store the data in the same fashion every time in every system across the enterprise.
Another common hassle for engineers is managing and combining legacy files with new data and extracting useful information from the combined data. VI Technology Arendar-based solutions include an import wizard through which you simply map your existing files to a custom configuration. Then the software automatically imports the data into the database from all similar fileswhether they are old or newly generated.
