Arendar 2005 Test Data Management Software Introduces Test Data Web Portal
New Version Adds SPC Analysis, Open Architecture, Legacy Test System Integration and Metadata Support to Test Data Management
AUSTIN, Texas (Sep 20, 2004) -- VI Technology, Inc. announced today at Autotestcon the newest version of it’s Arendar®
2005 enterprise test data management software that delivers global visibility to
design characterization and manufacturing data and reports. With Arendar, engineers
and managers gain insight into their design and manufacturing operations and use
information from their test data to achieve lower design, manufacturing and support
costs.
Enhancements to this new version include:
- Web Portal: Arendar’s web interface is enhanced
to provide a center for viewing and maintaining test result, test system, and product
information:
 Statistical
Process Control (SPC) Analysis (including Variable Control Charts, Attribute Control
Charts, Pareto Charts, Process Capability Analysis, and Run Charts)
User-based
creation of custom reports (including Yield reports, Trend reports, and SPC reports
with manager input of only key parameters)
Graphical
drill-down web reporting capability
Distributed
update of test stations and clients across global locations

- Open Architecture:The Arendar Web Portal and .NET
client applications have a documented open architecture so that developers can customize
the interface to their specific needs. Developers can write plug-ins to develop
unique analysis capabilities and proprietary reports that are integrated into Arendar.
- Query Browser: Advanced users can now use the Query
Browser to create sophisticated search criteria in SQL or OQL and integrate the
query into 3rd party software products.
- DIAdem Enhancements:
DIAdem users can now take advantage of the DIAdem’s string channel and channel group
capabilities with Arendar.
- Interactive and Batch Import of Legacy Data: The
Arendar Import Wizard reads legacy data files in ASCII, Excel, and Access formats
and takes a user through a series of steps to import the files into Arendar. Arendar
also integrates with legacy automated test systems that write these data formats
and automatically imports their results data at run time without requiring any changes
to the test systems’ software.
- TestStand Integration: Arendar’s integration into
TestStand is improved so that users can use custom step types selected from TestStand
menus to map data between TestStand and Arendar.
- Metadata Support: Arendar has the ability to store
metadata including file links and file information to manage all files types associated
with a test. By storing metadata information for image (.jpg, .gif, tiff, . . .),
document (.pdf, .doc, . . .), and analysis (.xls) files, you can quickly find the
file using Arendar’s Web Portal that meets specified search criteria and display
the file using the file’s native software application.
